Opera Pomme Rouge has been offering FREE monthly online acting workshops since May 2020 through our Young (Residence) Artist Program.

Good news! Starting in September, we will offer three classes for speakers of English, German and Japanese.
The theme of October's workshop is "
Basic stage technique- how to stand, walk, turn with your partner on stage.”, taught by Anna Etsuko Tsuri, world-experienced opera stage director. Her professional experience includes the Vienna State Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Bavarian State Opera and Théâtre du Soleil Paris.
The workshop is for opera singers and voice students ages 17 and up (we would be happy to make an age limit exception; please don’t hesitate to contact us!). It will be a very small group of maximum 5 participants.

This workshop is interactive and involves a lot of practical exercises. You are required to turn on your camera and to be visible from head to toe during the workshop.

Requirement:            You need a good internet connection. This workshop is interactive and involves a lot of practical exercises. You are required to turn on your camera and make sure you are visible from head to toe, as the teacher needs to give you feedback.

Anna Etsuko Tsuri  is Internationally active as an opera director. Studied opera stage directing at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Since childhood she learned piano, flute, conducting, singing, dance, pantomime and musical performance. In 2015 she founded the Pomme Rouge Opera in New York, of which she is the general director and faculty member of the Young Artist Program. As a freelance opera director, she has directed more than 30 operas in New York, Boston, Washington DC, Vienna, Berlin, Riga and Tokyo. Participation in over 100 opera productions in various opera houses and theaters, including Vienna State Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Washington National Opera, Komische Oper Berlin, Bregenz Festival, Festival of Young Artists Bayreuth, Théatre du soleil Paris, e.g. with directors such as Christine Mielitz, Marco Marelli, Ariane Nmouchkine, David Pountney. For 15 years she has been teaching staging with a focus on "relationship music analysis and healthy posture", especially for opera singers. She has been living in Germany again since summer 2019 and works at the Munich State Opera.
