Cast party/Fundraising event '15 

We would like to invte you to our cast party/fundraising event on Dec. 12, at 7:30 at the Blue Building at 222 E. 46th street, New York, NY. 

 

Door open/reseption 7:30

Music starts 8:00

 

There you will have the chance to meet and talk to our opera singers in person. You will be treated to an intimate vocal and piano performance, starring our young talented musicians Sophie Delphis, Aine Hakamatsuka, Magda Gartner, Noi Otomasu for Mozart, Rossini, Bizet, Bernstain, Verdi and more.  Also, we are lucky to be having world-famous soprano Asako Tamura who is our super advisor as a special treat, who will sing Ave Maria and an aria from Madame Butterfly for us! You will be able to enjoy homemade hors d' oeuvres and we will also be having a bake sale, for which Sophie and I will be making pastries from French and Japanese family recipes and a mini-art fair with works by Yuriko Katori and Monique Sobole.

Special advisor: Asako Tamura

A native of Kyoto, Japan, Asako Tamura-Materasso has appeared with opera companies worldwide. 

Recently she was chosen as the first foreigner to sing the US National Anthem at an exhibition baseball game between the NY Yankees and Washington Nationals in Washington DC.

Her extensive performance credits include appearances in Lucia di Lammermoor (Lucia) with the Hungarian State Opera (Budapest); Madame Butterfly(Cio-Cio-san)with the Royal Albert Hall, Baltimore Lyric opera, Teatro solis in Uruguay; I Masnadieri (Amalia) with the Sarasota Opera (Florida); La Traviata (Violetta) with the El Paso Opera (Texas); female leads in Leoni’s L’Oracolo and Montemezzi’s L’Incantesimo at the Avery Fisher Hall with Teatro Grattacielo (NY);  

Her many appearances in orchestral concerts include The Three Tenors (Domingo, Pavarotti, Carreras) in Yokohama, Japan; the New York Metropolitan Opera Orchestra; BBC Symphony Orchestra; Opera Ai Fori Gala Concert Orchestra (Rome) and many important orchestras in Japan.
